Job Summary: Provide assessment, instruction and evaluation of personal management, home management, communication and education skills to persons who are visually impaired.                    


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:    


1.      Works cooperatively with other staff toward Clovernook’s philosophy of promoting the consumer’s maximum potential for community living.*


2.      Evaluates and instructs individuals in the use of adaptive home management skills, personal management skills, and communication skills as assigned.*


3.      Evaluates and instructs in the use of adaptive technology. *


4.      Provides basic academic remediation as needed.


5.      Document and maintain grammatically correct, necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate manner, consistent with accreditation and quality standards.*


6.      Develops ISP goals and objectives in the above areas in coordination with the client and other team members.*


7.      Assists with preparation and maintenance of consumer files and records.*


8.      Provides education to the community, including Clovernook employees, in topics related to blindness, visual impairment and rehabilitation as assigned.


9.          Stays abreast of new developments, technology, techniques and resources.*


10.     Provides transportation of consumers as necessary.


11.     Performs Plan Coordinator responsibilities as assigned/needed.


12.     Other duties as assigned.


 


Job Requirements:


1.      Possession of a valid certificate in Vision Rehabilitation Therapy from ACVREP or actively pursuing certification.


2.      Degree from an accredited college or university in rehabilitation teaching.


3.      Command of English grammar and composition sufficient to generate accurate and professional documents and reports.


4.      Proficient P/C skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.).


5.      Maintain flexible hours.


6.      Successful completion and maintenance of CPR and first aid training.


7.      Valid driver’s license with no more than 5 points on driving record and an insured, reliable car available for on the job use.


8.      Post offer, pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, driving      background check.

Fund Development Manager


 


This is a part-time contract position.


 


Reports to the Regional Vice of Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired and works closely with staff members to obtain funding for the organization. 


Seeks and obtains funding from individuals, corporations, and granting agencies.


Identifies grant opportunities and prepares grant proposals as necessary.


Identifies individual donors and makes face-to-face requests.


Prepares direct mail and other fund raising materials as necessary.


Makes presentations as necessary to community organizations to obtain funding.


Must be familiar with all aspects of fundraising to include annual, major and capital campaigns.


Ideal candidate will be familiar with Raiser’s Edge, have a working understanding of non-profit budgeting, be familiar with the local community and have at least five years experience.

Responsible for the development of community-based employment opportunities for individuals with visual impairments involved in community employment services.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:  Develop community-based employment opportunities which meet the specifications outlined the individual service plan (ISP).  Distribute information through personal contact to local companies regarding the employment of individuals who are visually impaired.  Establish working relationships with local companies for the purpose of promoting the employment of individuals who are visually impaired. Document all consumer and employer contacts. Build and maintain professional, working relationships with consumers involved in job development.  Assist consumers through the application and interview process. Instruct in job seeking skills, including but not limited to: interview skills, resume writing, application completion strategies, appropriate dress, and manners and maintaining employer contact.  Complete job analysis documentation prior to the acceptance of any job offer. Document and maintain grammatically correct, necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate manner, consistent with accreditation and quality standards.  Oversee the provision of follow-along services for consumers who are employed without job coaching services.  Aid consumers involved in community placement in meeting work site expectations, learning job responsibilities, and maximizing social interactions at the work site as assigned.  Keep abreast of new developments, techniques, resources, etc., by attending appropriate in-service training programs, reading, etc. Provide education to the professional and non-professional community, including Clovernook employees. Provide transportation to consumers as necessary.  Attend and record ISP and update meetings as necessary.  Other duties as assigned.

Provides evaluation and instruction to clients in the Memphis area.  Must possess a valid certificate in orientation and mobility from ACVREP or be actively pursuing certification.  Individual must be able to document and maintain grammatically correct records/reports, provide blindness awareness to community and able proficient in P/C skills.  Responsibilities also include performing visual assessments, accompany consumers to low vision clinic and instruct on use of low vision near and distance aids.  Also conducts functional low vision assessments as needed.
