February is Low Vision Awareness Month. Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired would like to offer insight into what it means to be visually impaired. While there are a number of individuals who are totally without sight, most people with a visual impairment are diagnosed as "low vision" and do have some sight.

Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Hall to serve on the Braille Authority of North America’s (BANA) board. In this role, she will meet twice a year to regulate Braille formats and guidelines. The mission and purpose of the Braille Authority of North America is to assure literacy for tactile readers through the standardization of Braille and/or tactile graphics. BANA promotes and facilitates the use, teaching and production of Braille.
