Youth Services
Clovernook understands that the skills we need to become successful, self-confident adults start developing at an early age. The Discovery program is designed to help each visually impaired child develop their full potential by offering a variety of learning and social opportunities that are focused on their specific challenges. Discovery program activities are offered year-round in Cincinnati, with specific day camp programs in the summer. Students have the opportunity to gain experience in menu planning and cooking, use of adapted computer technology, chaperoned field trips for cultural enrichment, safe and independent mobility instruction, and sometimes even summer work experience either at Clovernook or in the community.

Summer Work Experience
This service gives individuals of working age and enrolled in high school the opportunity to participate in a variety of real work experiences. Services include the development of skills to compensate for sensory losses, interpersonal skills building and assistance with identifying transportation needs. All individuals engaged in work activities are compensated according to applicable wage and hour standards.
Summer Youth Job Placement
Individuals are assisted in developing, marketing and networking skills to secure competitive, community based employment in their chosen field of interest. Individuals work one-on-one with an assigned job developer in a directed job search: identifying potential employment opportunities, filing applications and scheduling interviews.
Memphis Discovery Camp of Dreams and Success
Each summer, Clovernook offers (through generous community support) several weeks of activities for young people from the tri-state area, ages 8-22. Our program services staff devotes their talents to the camp as well as local artists, musicians, and business professionals in order to provide instruction in the skills necessary to become independent and successful adults. Our future innovators learn activities of daily living, hone computer skills, travel the countryside, dabble in the arts, and map blueprints for tomorrow while building friendships to last a lifetime. Every summer is never the same so please contact us for specific dates and activities.
